Property Council is proud to announce broadcaster, writer, and commentator Matt Heath as a keynote speaker for Reset25, taking place on Thursday 15 May.
Known for his candid and humorous approach to life, Matt will take the stage to share his journey of mental resilience, practical wellbeing strategies, and insights into how individuals and businesses can foster a culture of mental strength and positivity.
A Voice of Experience, a Message of Strength
Matt Heath has built a diverse and influential career across television, radio, and print media. From co-creating and starring in the cult TV show Back of the Y Masterpiece Television to co-hosting The Matt & Jerry Show on Radio Hauraki for over a decade, he has entertained and engaged audiences nationwide. More recently, as Newstalk ZB’s afternoon host and a celebrated columnist, he has turned his focus to mental wellbeing, leading conversations about resilience and happiness
His best-selling book, A Life Less Punishing: 13 Ways to Love the Life You’ve Got, explores his personal struggles and the lessons he has learned about overcoming adversity. Drawing from a mix of philosophy, science, and lived experience, Matt provides actionable strategies for maintaining a strong mental state in an unpredictable world.
Matt’s Journey to Mental Resilience
At Reset 2025, Matt will share the deeply personal story of how he rebuilt his mental resilience after the loss of his mother and the breakdown of a long-term relationship. Sitting alone on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, he reached a pivotal moment – realising that to move forward, he needed to become his own biggest supporter. This led him on a journey of research, self-improvement, and practical habit-building that ultimately changed his life
Matt’s talk will focus on key themes from his book and personal experiences, from practical steps to improve mental wellbeing to how businesses can support employee resilience.
Mental Resilience and ESG
Mental health is an essential component of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. As businesses strive to build more sustainable, people-focused workplaces, fostering mental resilience among employees and leaders is critical. Matt’s engaging and relatable approach ensures that attendees will walk away with tangible tools to improve their own wellbeing and contribute to healthier, more productive work environments.
This session is kindly brought to you by Spaceworks.
